Special Notes

When visiting Valley Forge Park, keep these things in mind:

• Deer ticks are abundant! Always, and I do mean always, wear repellant! 

• Remember - they may not run, but the animals are still wild. Don't touch or approach deer or any other animal.

• Check out the What to Bring page.

• Don't be the cause of a traffic jam - Rte. 23 runs through Valley Forge Park. It's the only way for many of the suburban residents to get to and fro. Sightseeing is great, but please - don't stop in the middle of the freaking highway to take photos or read a marker. Pull into a parking area and enjoy a leisurely (and much safer) stroll to the points of interest. Locals have lead feet and cell phones attached to their ears - don't count on anyone to see or pay enough attention to avoid you.
