 Local area links

Sooner or later you're going to want to see more than just the park. Check out these local town links for more information on upcoming events.

Downtown Phoenixville - Less than four miles west of the park, it's a charming former steel town that's revitalized its downtown area. There's the Colonial Theater, made famous by the movie The Blob, as well as live entertainment and great dining choices. Don't miss First Fridays - all stores are open late in the downtown area and during the late spring/summer months, live entertainment on nearly every corner.

King of Prussia Mall - You can look at only so many deer and fields. Here's what to do when you've exhausted your park options. The mall is the largest on the east coast and offers more shopping options than eBay (nearly). Largest mall in the country in terms of retail square footage. There's something for everyone here. Literally.

King of Prussia - Need to find a merchant beyond the mall? This site offers a good listing.

American Helicopter Museum - Located just a few miles from the park (no more than ten, I believe), you can learn about the history of the helicopter. You might even catch a ride in one. My once-teenaged son loved this place (and he was reluctant to go in the first place).

The G Lodge diner is now famous!! Look for it in the M. Knight Shymalan film The Happening with Mark Wahlberg, Zoey Deschanel and John Leguizamo! The diner was renamed Filbert Restaurant for the movie. We were able to watch filming for a few days - neat!
